There are some Sony laptops that use a special types of screen. The Sony Vaio VGN-Ar71J Laptop Display Panel is one of those. Generally found in the larger laptops about the 17″ and above range, these 2 CCFL Laptop Screens are not at all commonly used. They will mostly be found with the Sony laptop and you do need to replace your old screen with this same type in order to get a faulty screen working again.

The 2 CCFL type has two backlight connectors protruding from the bottom of the panel. These connect to two inverters which provide a high power to light the panel. This 2 CCFL method can be quite power consuming so make sure you have a laptop charger to hand to help the laptop along.
