HP Probook 4525s Laptop Power Supplies โ€“ There are different types so make sure you get the right one

HP Laptops, as a rule, require one of three different types of Laptop Charger to successfully power them. These three types cannot be swapped as they provide different power outputs and the tip is different on each. With these different requirements, if you buy the wrong one, you will either not be able to plug it into the laptop DC Socket or the power will not be sufficient.

The different HP Adapters have differing voltages and ampages such as 18.5V 3.5A and 19V 4.9A. These, times together equal the Wattage. So 18.5 x 3.5 = 65W. It is preferable to ensure you do not under amp your laptop as the laptop will constantly struggle to drag enough power through the adapter. This can dramatically reduce the lifespan of your adapter.

Having slightly too much in the way of ampage however will be OK. This is because the laptop will only draw the power it needs from the HP Probook Charger. this can benefit the adapter in so much as it will never be working at full stretch and so should last a lot longer, provided you take good care of it.

The other point to note is the three different tip sizes. The largest has the outer and inner diameter of 7.4mm and 5.0mm with a small pin in the middle. The next one down has the sizes 4.8mm and 1.7mm. This is usually found with a yellow cap on the end of the tip. The very smallest is 4.8mm and 1.7mm with a small ridge and no yellow cap on the end.

Check your HP Probook 4525s Laptop Power Supply is correct by comparing it to the specifications and image on our website. This is the product we recommend you use. Sometimes there may be instances where your charger differs slightly but all you need to do for any queries is give Laptop Power UK a call.
