Laptops are seriously complicated pieces of kit, and therefore if something does go wrong, there is a chance that it can only be repaired professionally. However this isn’t always the case, and more often than not, if your laptop parts malfunction you might be able to repair it yourself!
Perhaps the most common issue with laptops is the failure of laptop adapters or laptop power cables, and in regards to repairs it couldn’t be easier! Essentially the biggest challenge with replacement a laptop power cable is sourcing the compatible product, and luckily
at Laptop Power UK we have a massive stock to choose from including Dell laptop power cables amongst many others.
Whilst an issue with the laptop power cable is perhaps the simplest problem to solve, unfortunately there are plenty of other things that can go wrong with a laptop that will require a little more effort to fix. For example, broken laptop keyboards
will not only require a compatible keyboard but will also require installation – which may or may not be within your ability.
When it comes to replacing laptop screens, things get even more difficult, as you will have to remove parts of the laptop to gain access to the screen itself. Whilst this can be done with some basic tools, i.e. a screwdriver, it will require a level of
ability, effort and overall confidence in taking apart a laptop.
Understandably, many laptop owners will not feel comfortable replacing laptop parts themselves, and therefore professional repairs, such as laptop screen repairs from Laptop Power UK, may be a better way to go!

Laptop screens are very fragile creatures. The slightest amount of excess weight can lead to a cracked screen, or it could simply start to malfunction through overuse. There’s a common misconception that once the screen’s gone, the whole laptop needs
to be replaced – but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
A broken screen doesn’t necessarily mean a broken laptop. They’re different entities after all, and work much in the same way as a desktop computer. If the monitor of a desktop PC broke you wouldn’t rush straight out to replace the whole computer, so why do that when it comes to laptops?
Often, a broken screen can quickly and easily be replaced by compatible parts. Search online for replacement screens to fix the problem yourself, or invest in laptop repairs if a DIY job isn’t an option. This will still be a much cheaper option than
buying a new laptop, and new screens can be surprisingly good value.
At least, they can be if you know where to look. That’s why you need to come to us here at Laptop Power UK. We have a great range of replacement laptop screens, all at exceptional value for money, and to make sure you’re not without for too long, we offer same day dispatch if you order before 3pm. We believe that we’re the best
in the business for all of your laptop needs, so make sure to come to us for laptop screen replacement – and see how it can bring your laptop back to life.

Thanks to the skill and expertise of laptop designers, the average laptop looks a lot sturdier than it actually is. This is especially true of the larger and weightier laptops, which may appear solid and able to withstand a few knocks – this couldn’t be further from the truth.
The truth is that laptops are incredibly delicate, and there isn’t much protection between their complex, fine inner parts and the outside world. This can mean trouble if you need to move around with your laptop a lot, a naturally clumsy person, or someone who doesn’t consider the delicacy of their equipment – or you may even be
just a little unlucky.
For this reason, it is advised that when travelling, you never put your laptop into the main hold of a plane. No one cares less about your luggage than baggage handlers, as people who travel a lot will be able to testify; therefore, while travelling, the safest place for your laptop is your hand luggage.
The most delicate part of the laptop is also, ironically, the most expensive part to replace: the laptop screen. Often the laptop screen equates to roughly half of the cost of the laptop, which means that sourcing laptop parts for a damaged screen – or
trying to find a laptop screen replacement – might not be worth your time.
Your best bet is not to need a laptop screen replacement in the first place. To avoid having to buy laptop parts, treat your laptop with care. Don’t touch the screen unless cleaning gently with a lint-free cloth, and avoid eating or drinking near it.

Although damaging a laptop screen is fairly easy to do, fixing it isn’t, and by attempting to do so yourself you could be rendering the laptop unusable or voiding the warranty. However, considering that laptop screen repairs can often cost more than the laptop did in the first place, fixing a laptop screen yourself could be a viable option.
If you do consider yourself capable of laptop screen repair, you will need to identify for certain if it is actually the laptop screen that’s causing the damage. Remember that just because your laptop hardware apparently ceases to function, this doesn’t automatically
mean it is not a software problem. The best way to check if it is your laptop screen that is the issue is to hook you laptop to a computer monitor. If it works then you most likely have a broken screen.
The next step is to get access to your screen, and this way you will be able to determine what compatible laptop parts you will need (i.e. take note of the manufacturer’s number on the back of the part). Getting to your screen shouldn’t be too difficult, and briefly you
will need to remove the screws surrounding it, then un-click the bezel and then remove the screws holding the screen in place.
Of course if you’re in any doubt about laptop screen replacement, getting a professional to do the job is wise idea. At Laptop Power not only can we offer replacement laptop screens, but also a laptop screen replacement service – saving you the hassle of
a difficult job.

First of all, don’t panic. Replacing the whole unit is the last resort for any broken laptop part. Screens are no exception. Even a small screen crack probably looks pretty bad, and serious damage to the laptop screen looks like a complete disaster. Most
people jump straight into buying a whole new laptop, thinking they have no choice. They might not even be able to get their data off the old one, which is a tragedy. All those family photos or essential documents lost forever, all because of faulty laptop parts.
We know new laptops are very expensive, and yours is probably full of gigabytes of music, pictures, movies, and programs that would take hours and hours to transfer and reinstall. You’ve got your laptop it just the way you want it, so changing computer would be a hassle as well as pricey.
But remember, what really drives your computer isn’t the screen. With a standard desktop computer, the monitor is entirely separate and you can chop and change a broken monitor easily. The laptop screen isn’t dissimilar. It’s connected, but the precious
laptop parts that make the computer really function are underneath the keyboard. The memory and motherboard are down there, and it’s entirely possible that they haven’t been at all affected by whatever caused the screen crack.
Often, we can either replace your laptop screen for you, or send you a compatible, unbranded replacement laptop part and a set of comprehensive instructions to do it yourself in your own home. Before you rush out and buy a new computer, talk to one of
our technicians and see if your old one can be rescued.

Laptops screens are incredibly fragile pieces of hardware and can be easily broken or damaged. Dropping a laptop is probably the most extreme way of damaging a laptop screen, but you can just as easily cause problems by pressing too hard on the screen or using the incorrect cleaning solution.
If you think you may have damaged your laptop screen and are considering buying a laptop screen replacement, then first of all check that it is only the screen that is damaged. The bad news is that it is possible that dropping your laptop could have
affected the motherboard as well as the screen.
Turn your laptop on and run through a few systems and programmes to check everything is working. If it is clear that it is only the screen that is damaged, then you can begin your search for a reputable manufacturer of laptop spares.
Of course all the big name brand manufacturers will be able to supply you with laptop spares, and in this case, a laptop LCD screen replacement. However, laptop screens are notoriously expensive to buy and fit, so a more affordable solution is to contact
Laptop Power. We are a well-established manufacturer of laptop compatible parts which are unbranded and not the manufacturers’ originals. This means that even though we provide unparalleled customer service with great delivery and returns policies, that we can stock
laptop spares at a much more competitive price than the bigger brands can.
If you are unsure about where to start, give us a call at Laptop Power with the make, model and serial number of your laptop and we will be able to help with buying replacement parts and fitting them.

Along with damaged power jacks and broken keyboards, damaged screens are the most likely cause of laptops repairs.
Sometimes the problem is not as bad as it seems. Pixel issues, flickering or a jumbled screen might be caused by a loose connection, stuck back light or a problem with your monitor.
However, should you require a laptop LCD screen replacement then the bad news is you will need to prepare yourself for a hefty bill for the part and the work required to fit it.
Laptop screens usually cost up to half of the amount of the cost of the laptop. While you may find some websites encouraging you to fit a new laptop screen yourself, it isn’t really advised because the worst case scenario is that you damage the new one
trying to re-fit it, and you could end up with two damaged laptop screens.
The good news is that there is a way to get around paying exorbitant prices for laptop parts. One way is to get in touch with Laptop Power. Laptop Power stock unbranded compatible laptop parts and not the manufacturers’ originals, which means we are able to keep our
prices low without sacrificing our quality or service.
Laptop Power provides top customer service, with great policies on delivery and returns. All of our parts are premium quality replacement items, CE certificated and safety approved, and we offer a 12 month warranty on everything.
We also provide a customised laptop parts fitting service, meaning that you don’t have to worry about buying a new laptop screen, fitting the new laptop screen, or the bill afterwards.
