The ironic thing about living with a laptop is that the more you become dependent on it, the greater the likelihood of damaging it. This is because you spend so much time on it, that having a cup of tea and a biscuit while you surf the web or finish some work doesn’t seem like a problem – but can be.
Not eating or drinking near your laptop is just one of the top tips you can follow to ensure your laptop runs at its best for as long as it can – and ensuring that you don’t damage any of your laptop hardware.
(However, if you do damage your laptop hardware, then take a look at our final tip for how to source the right replacement laptop hardware, from everything to laptop keyboard replacement to laptop screen replacements.)
1. Exercise your battery power: Use your laptop’s battery by unplugging it from the mains and running it on battery power until it runs out. This will keep it in tip-top condition.
2. Don’t leave your laptop on all the time: Even the most powerful laptops will over-heat if they are left on for days at a time, and it isn’t great for the environment or your energy consumption either. Turn your laptop off at the mains, or set it to hibernate automatically.
3. Choose your replacements wisely: If you do need to find laptop parts, then visit www.laptop-power.co.uk for top quality replacements (compatible parts, not the manufacturer’s originals) and a free fitting service.
