The face of laptops is changing, and with the prevalence of free WI-FI spots and the advent of ‘truly portable’ netbook computers, it is now possible to have real computing experiences on the hoof. However, as laptop hardware remains fundamentally the same, there are still some limitations to a laptop’s portability and still the danger of laptop parts undermining a device’s function.
For home usage, portability is still desirable in a laptop, as it means that a computer can adapt to its different user’s mode of work and be carried easily from room to room. In this context bulkier laptop adapters offer no significant disadvantage than smaller travel laptop adapters.
When travelling, on the other hand, travel laptop adapters are optimised for performance, and can therefore afford laptop users some considerable benefits. For example, many trains nowadays offer seating that has access to power sockets, which can often preclude bulkier laptop adaptors, or make them less convenient – in which case a travel adapter may be more useful.
On a simpler level, travel adapters will be able to fit more adequately into luggage which has obvious implications in terms of convenience. Of course the space saved may be slight, however as all travellers know even a small space saving can be significant!
At Laptop Power UK we’ve got all kinds of laptop parts, including Hitachi laptop adaptors which means that finding the best sized adapter for your specific laptop is always possible.
