Say what you like about social networking sites, or tweet what you like, but they’re proving to be one of the defining aspects of modern life. Without an intervention from facebook Simon Cowell would have scored at least one more Christmas number one. Without twitter maybe David Cameron’s giant airbrushed face would have attracted less ridicule. On a more personal level, social networking has transformed the way we interact with our friends. We arrange parties, events, nights out and activities through facebook, we keep tabs on the lives of friends we haven’t seen in years via their twitter feeds. In fact even the word ‘friend’ has changed meaning to include ‘people you used to know in primary school’ or ‘that guy you worked with for 3 months last year.’
Our computing purchases are informed by their ability to keep pace with social media. The idea of a laptop with a webcam built in is all the more enticing for someone who makes regular calls on skype and anyone who likes to upload photos quickly to facebook is going to be drawn to a laptop that makes good use of bluetooth technology. As more and more laptops keep one eye on social networking, laptops are becoming an integral part of the way we maintain our relationships.
Keep in touch!
Whilst most of us probably catch ourselves yearning for simpler times – times when we didn’t have to cram our innermost thoughts into 140 characters – the moment a laptop power adapter breaks we ditch the nostalgia trip and dash for the nearest internet connection to find a replacement. There’s no shame in that of course. At Laptop Power UK we try to keep abreast of the current trends in laptops and that means taking a keen interest in social media. So if you’re missing out on the latest goings on because your dell inspiron 1750 charger has let you down or you can’t share a witty aside with friends because your nc6320 power supply is frazzled, then Laptop Power UK could be the best ‘friend’ you ever had. We’re the leading name in laptop adaptors and replacement laptop screens and we’re gaining more followers every day!
