LCD Laptop Screens? What are they?

August 12th, 2011

A lot of people get a little confused when using the term LCD and LED. Many will order a new LED screen in error because they believe that LCD and LED are the same thing. They aren’t however. All laptop screens are LCD panels. This stands for Liquid Crystal Display and is basically what is ‘inside’ the laptop screen that allows it to produce a picture. These crystals can be manipulated to produce different colours. All laptop screens whether CCFL or LED utilise the Liquid Crystal Display method to produce the image.

Within the LCD umbrella are then the two options of CCFL or LED. These terms indicate how the screen is lit internally – either through an external inverter with the CCFL screens or internally using the screens LED’s in the LED version. If you require a new laptop screen don’t be fooled by the term LCD as all laptop screens from all manufacturers are usually LCD. If you need to know what type (CCFL or LED) screen you have, why not follow our laptop screen fitting instructions to find out how to remove your faulty screen and identify which type of screen you need.

What does our Acer Aspire One AO531 Adapter offer you?

July 25th, 2011

It is definitely a buyers market when it comes to sourcing new Acer Aspire One AO531 Adapters. With so many competitors there are many different types of adapters at many different prices. We think you should not need to compromise on price or quality. You should be able to get them both in one great package.

All of our Acer Aspire Chargers are both affordable to everyone’s budget but also built to last and provide the safest laptop computing possible. There are unfortunately some rogue chargers on the market which are of such poor quality that at best they will break within a few weeks and at worst will be dangerous to your health and property. You need to make sure you avoid these particular units.

An Acer Aspire One AC Adapter that seems too cheap to be true usually is. If you are buying it for only a few pounds, it has been shipped half way round the world from China and has been manufactured using good quality parts it would certainly not be that cheap. It is worth spending just a little more for the mid priced adapters to ensure the quality is higher. These chargers are going to last much longer but are also safer and meet a higher specification. In the long term you will save the extra money you have spent and can rest assured that whenever you need your laptop charger it will always be ready to use.

The HP 6730s Adapter is a very popular purchase – You can get yourself a quality adapter too

July 16th, 2011

The Laptop Adapter for the Compaq 6730s laptop is a hugely popular model. Compaq are one of the biggest selling laptop manufacturers and this particular charger is the one that Compaq seem to prefer to equip their laptops with. It is quite distinctive when compared to others as it has a large ‘barrel’ shaped tip with a small metal pin inside. Many other laptop chargers have a smaller tip and may be coloured blue, black or yellow.

As the UK’s number one, we have the best supply links and can source the very best Compaq CQ61 Adapters. When we say the best, we don’t mean just a good copy or generic charger as most companies stock. We mean the very best, original Compaq chargers. This higher quality means there is far less chance of the adapter breaking or burning out within just a few weeks.

Some Compaq laptops require a certain adapter in order to work. Some generic chargers will not have the technology necessary to do the job. A Compaq Laptop Adapter bought from Laptop Power UK will never suffer from this as it is an original. As such a popular charger, we bring them to you at a fantastic low price – one to keep your laptop and your bank balance happy.

Original OEM Compaq 6820s AC Adapters

July 14th, 2011

The trouble with buying a generic Laptop AC Adapter is just that – it is generic. It has been  made by a company without the original plans and designs for the original. These companies usually try to sell these at hugely discounted rates but end users soon find out that they are not much good in terms of expected life. They will quickly wear out and break because they are manufactured to a lower specification. For a longer lasting, stronger Compaq 6820S AC Adapter original OEM is always better.

Here at Laptop Power UK you can avoid the hassle of having to buy one after another adapter as we only sell the original OEM parts. With a longer lasting power supply comes less expenditure in the long run and also a safer charging unit for your laptop. In some extreme cases a very poor replacement charger can damage your laptop motherboard leaving you facing a bill of hundreds to put right. Avoid this with Laptop Power UK.

HP Pavilion DV5000 Screen Black – What is the issue?

July 14th, 2011

When you turn your DV5000 laptop on the laptop should begin to start up. The indicator lights should come on and the fan and hard drive should be audible. If this is happening, in the vast majority of cases the problem does not lie with the screen or some software issue, but instead with the graphics chip.

It is a well known issue in the laptop maintenance world that HP and Compaq laptops in particular experience this problem frequently. Whether is is a design flaw or an issue with the materials being used, a HP laptop seems particularly susceptible to this. In short the graphics card has failed, usually because of the very high temperatures  being generated in normal operation not being dissipated properly. Either because the fan has failed, the laptop couldn’t vent the heat properly or there was a build up of dust, the temperature can rise causing the solder holding the chip to the motherboard to melt and the legs become detached.

A Laptop Repair is possible to ‘reconnect’ the graphics chip but only those companies with specialist technology such as Laptop Power UK will be able to do the job with any degree of success. Call us for a quote on your laptop repair.

Compal FL91 Screen Replacements – Source the parts required for your laptop repair

July 7th, 2011

Compal may not be well known on the high street, in fact you may never have heard of them in the laptop arena. However, they are a huge company manufacturing laptops for the names we have all heard of such as Dell and HP. What happens is Compal will produce a basic chassis of a laptop including the essentials such as main electronics board, batteries and display panels. These are then sold on to the big companies to be re-branded and for the software, hard drives and other parts to be added.

Whilst you may not have bought your laptop direct from Compal and you certainly won’t be able to buy say, an individual Compal FL91 Screen from them, you can source these parts from Laptop Power UK. With a full range of compatible parts we can supply practically any laptop screen for any kind of laptop.
