Because to err is human and because humans have laptops, chances are that at some point you will have an accident with your laptop. One of the more common laptop accidents is to spill something onto your laptop keyboard – usually a cup of coffee in the morning as you rush around getting ready for your day. If this happens, you should turn off the laptop power by the quickest (but safest) means possible; hold down the power button until the power is off and disconnect the adaptor from the wall and then remove the laptop battery. Once this is done you can then proceed to mop up the liquid and your laptop keyboard with paper towels or an absorbent cloth.
If you’re quick, efficient and be enough to have saved your laptop and its keyboard from doom. If it was just water that was spilt then mopping it up and leaving it to dry for a few days is often enough as water will not leave behind a sticky residue. If, however, it was coffee or fizzy juice, then you may need to be a bit more worried as they can leave residues behind that will stick to and clog up the laptop keyboard, if not cause a short in the circuits.
However, replacing your laptop keyboard couldn’t be easier than using our user-friendly drop down menus to choose the correct compatible make and model for your laptop here at Laptop Power UK. Install your new replacement laptop keyboard yourself as you bring you laptop back to life again, while keeping those beverages at a safe distance in future.
