You probably never thought you would be clumsy enough to spill your drink on to your laptop. It can happen though and maybe it has just happened to you. Believe it or not there are some drinks that may not cause as much damage to the laptop than others. A spilt cup of coffee or juice with a sugar content can cause more long term damage than a glass of water for instance.
Once the liquid has started to penetrate the Laptop Keyboard the first thing that may happen is a clogging of the keys. They will become sticky and may not register on screen when you press a letter. If you are lucky, it will just be a replacement keyboard that needs to be swapped. If you have been unlucky, the liquid will penetrate the motherboard connector. The whole keyboard may then cease to work as no input from it is recognised.
Even worse that this, the liquid will start to corrode the laptop motherboard. A juice drink will dry and then much like some metal left outside it will almost start to ‘rust’. This can have serious complications for you whole laptop. The best thing to do is to get the laptop to a repair shop as quickly as possible to avoid further damage. Never try to dry theDell Inspiron 1545 Keyboard laptop with a hairdrier or by putting it near a radiator as this will make the matter worse. If you need a look no further than Laptop Power UK for help.
