There are many items on a laptop that are repairable or replaceable. The laptop power supply, for one. Laptop chargers, laptop power cables, laptop adaptors, laptop screens and laptop LCD screens to name a few.
Why repair or replace?
Repairing, replacing or updating a laptop is economical. On average it will probably cost you about a quarter of the price of a new laptop.
It is kind on the environment too. Today we need to reconsider recycling as part of our lives. Repairing or improving a laptop can save more energy than recycling. As computers evolve and become more powerful the impact on the environmental drain increases. We need to become more open to the benefits of the second hand market or repairing instead of recycling.
Many laptop users don’t use the full power of their machines; they are inconsistent with their needs. Even an old laptop can be used for simple uses such as the internet, word processing and office automation. For many, there is no need to replace their laptop with the next generation just because it’s popular. Upgrade rather than replace if this is all you use your laptop for.
Even if your laptop is in need of repair and a new purchase is unavoidable, don’t throw it away. Fix it and bestow it on someone who will appreciate it.
If all your laptop needs is a new screen, power supply or keyboard it does not make economical sense to replace the entire machine. Repairing or replacing will ensure that your computer retains all your essential data and programs that are appropriate to your needs.
