Whilst much effort has been made to immunise a laptop against a variety of issues, whether its power consumption or screen dimness, laptop hardware is still inherently vulnerable to certain level of damage. This is especially the case in regards to laptop adapters, and one of the most ubiquitous complaints that still recurs regarding laptops is the sudden failure of its charger.
Laptops chargers are vulnerable to a wide variety of issues, e.g. as it is likely that your laptop is frequently being moved around, this can put strain on the adaptor, which over time could break. This is especially true in regards to the jack ends of the wire. Alternatively, if your charger comes into contact with a metal object (even things like coins) then this could potentially short circuit a charger (especially true for cheaper laptop chargers).
In light of the potential for charger damage, there are a variety of simple steps you can take to ensure that you get your money’s worth out of many different laptop parts. You shouldn’t leave an adapter plugged into a laptop for prolonged periods, and you should keep metal items away from the metal components in a charger. Generally, try to treat a laptop charger with respect – remember, if something does go wrong with your laptop, it is probably going to be the adapter!
Should the worse happen to your adapter, there’s no need to worry. At Laptop Power we have plenty of laptop adapters, compatible with all of the leading brands in laptop design.
