HP Compaq have launched a new range of laptops during 2009 under their Compaq Presario brand of laptops. The screen sizes of these laptops vary between 15.6” and 17” laptops and have been aimed towards the top end of the laptop market with prices approaching £1000. The most popular series of laptops within this series are the Compaq Presario CQ50 laptop, the Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop and more recently the Compaq Presario CQ70 laptop.
These laptops, supported by Laptop Power UK were launched first in the US market and have cemented Hewlett Packard and Compaq’s position as the premier laptop supplier in the USA. There is no reason to suppose the UK market’s reaction will be any different. The graphics card, the hard disk and the build quality are all amongst the best you will see during 2010. Customers will also need to be aware that the HP charger used with all these laptops are 90w laptop chargers and are sold under several HP Spare part numbers including PPP014H-S and PPP012L-S.
Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop chargers and Compaq Presario CQ50 laptop adapters may also in some instances use a 65w charger, so customers should be look on the underside of their laptop to see their power rating. For Compaq and Hewlett Packard laptops the power rating information of the laptop is often located underneath the laptop battery, and the battery must be removed to see the power rating information.
Where the Compaq Presario laptop screens have made a steal on the market is through the quick adaption of the LED technology into the screen backlight. As a result, in particular the Compaq CQ70 laptop and the Compaq Presario CQ71 laptop have been highly popular with American gamers. However it must be considered that the Alienware series, owned by Dell, will provide stiff competition in the gaming market since the Alienware customer market is specifically targeted towards the gamers. It will be interesting to see whether the Compaq Presario CQ Series of laptops will dent Alienware’s market share in gaming laptop sales. Watch this space.
