If something goes wrong with your Laptop Power Supply is there a way to fix it yourself. We would always recommend that you don’t. The laptop charger is a sealed unit meaning it is not really designed to be opened and tinkered with. It is obviously not a wise move to start playing around with electrical equipment, especially when not a qualified electrician. In our experience, when testing the quality of items, you would literally have to keep smashing the charger ‘brick’ against the floor to get inside. Of course by this time it will definitely be broken. Even if you could successfully get inside it is very difficult to tell exactly which part is faulty.
Some people who contact Laptop Power UK have said they have had problems with the cable or maybe the tips of their chargers and have simply taped them up. Again this is not a practical solution. When using electrical equipment safety should always be in your mind. If the cables are damaged and have been taped up, it is time to think about finding a replacement.
Luckily the cost is not great. Just look at the fantastic prices for one of our Acer Aspire Chargers or Sony Vaio Chargers. With prices this low for a top spec replacement is it really worth risking your safety with an old faulty charger, when you could get a brand new one easily and quickly.
