Some tips to make your laptop battery last longer

Many people are becoming frustrated at the incredibly short laptop battery run times that they are having to put up with. For sure there are some poor quality laptop batteries being included in some of the cheaper end laptops such as Acer and Toshiba, but some of the problem lies with the user.

Many people mistakenly believe that using their laptop with their laptop charger constantly plugged in is a good was to preserve their laptop battery. Nothing could be further from the truth. For a battery to lead a long and happy leave it needs to be fully charged and discharged on a regular basis. This is especially important when the laptop battery is new as this establishes its charging cycle in the first instance.

In many ways it is like taking a dog for a walk. To remain healthy over the long term the laptop battery needs to be put through its paces now and again. The easiest and best way to achieve this is to use your laptop without the laptop charger plugged in regularly. Run the battery down to nearly empty and then plug the laptop adapter back in once more to fully charge it back up. Do this once every couple of days and you will be presently surprised to see the effect that it has on your laptop battery’s charging performance.
