When people can get any power into their laptop, they start wondering what the problem could be. Well here is some useful advice which may shed some light on your laptop power problem. If your laptop has lost power, then there are three things which could generally be wrong with the laptop. Firstly the laptop charger could have failed. Signs that this is the case will be if there is any physical damage to the laptop adapter wires, or if the pin on the end of the power supply has snapped or bent. Secondly, you may have a problem with what is known as the laptop dc jack socket. This is the hole in the side or the back of the laptop where the laptop power supply plugs in.
Tell tale signs of a laptop dc socket problem are if it has come loose, or the pin inside the hole is loose and can be waggled around with a pen. Lastly you may have a faulty laptop battery. This is the least likely of the three causes since power and charge depletion in the laptop battery are far more common than complete failure.
