One of the most striking things about walking up and down the UK high street is the number of retailers who have expanding into selling laptops, netbooks and tablets. Of course PC World and Currys (DSG International) have long been the bedrock of this industry in the UK. Comet and Argos have also taken significant market share
within the last five years. However now there has been a huge expansion of sellers.
First the supermarkets waded into the sector. Tesco and Asda are now huge retailers of laptops, often adopting very aggressive pricing policies. Carphone Warehouse have now also started using the selling / gifting of laptops and netbooks as part of their bundling strategies to sell a variety of long-term contracts. However this
year was the introduction of premium end retailers also starting to retail laptops with John Lewis and even Selfridges entering the fray.
Whilst the selling of laptops has increased on the high street, the provision of spare parts for notebooks and laptops is still firmly on online business. People aren’t concerned on the whole with inspecting a spare part before they buy it – they just want it to be the right one. Also given the huge range of spares for laptops,
even these big retailers couldn’t dedicate the floor spare required for it. Laptop Power UK likes to consider ourselves as the Marks and Spencer of the UK’s laptop parts industry. We are not the cheapest, but we are the best. We have huge customer loyalty and we
encourage you to try out our service to find out why.

When it comes to doing our bit for the environment, we sleep easily at Laptop Power UK. After all, if we do our job properly and provide you with the correct laptop spare part, then our primary reason for being as an organisation is to keep your laptop running
and out of the landfill site. Electronic waste is becoming an ever bigger issue and the government are becoming increasingly legislative in their approach in dealing with the problem.
First there was the Wee Directive, but more legislation is in the pipeline. The last thing the government wants is for faulty laptop chargers, cracked laptop screens and dead laptop batteries ending up in peoples’ wheelie bins.
Over the next 10 years the burden that redundant consumer electronics products are going to place on the Uk’s landfill sites is incredible. Given the slow decaying nature of these types of products it is causing a big headache for governments around the world. Anyway, if you keep your laptop running for longer by finding the
correct spare part off our website, feel good about doing your little but for the environment, as well as saving yourself money on a new laptop!

You only need to switch on the news to realise these are pretty dark economic times we are living through. The worrying bit is that 2012 doesn’t look like being any better than 2011, and if anything it could get worse. Laptop Power UK is predicting a boom in the laptop spares replacement market. The days of popping down to PC
World to buy a new £400 laptop simply because of a small problem with your previous laptop may be behind us.
What customers are looking for in the current environment is value. This is different from price. A £5 laptop charger that lasts 2 months is not as good value as an original £30 laptop adapter that last 4 years. Let’s face it, no matter how bad
the economy gets we are not going to go back to the stone-age in terms of technology. This means that the demand for high quality, good value, original laptop parts is going to be on the rise over the next couple of years.
Whether you have lost your laptop charger, you have cracked your laptop screen and need a replacement, or you are becoming increasingly frustrated at the poor laptop battery life you are currently enjoying – get in touch with Laptop Power UK. We are the UK’s
largest distributor of original OEM laptop spares, and we pride ourselves on delivering premium quality products and lasting repair solutions to our customer base at the most competitive prices on the market.

As a company not lacking in ambition, Italy is the latest country to receive a Laptop Power website launch. The website follows the same translated format as those currently launched in the UK, USA, France and Germany. As Director Andrew Roughley commented, ‘With a
population similar in size to the UK and as a country who have traditionally been pretty savvy with online search and payment, Italy was the obvious next step in our expansion. With a dedicated distribution centre now set up in Italy, this allows us to serve the Italian consumer with original laptop parts to a level not currently
available to them.’
Italian customers will be able to checkout using Paypal as well as all major credit and debit cards. Next day delivery options are available on all laptop chargers, laptop batteries and laptop screens in all areas of the country. Laptop Power IT will offer the exact same range of laptop parts, backed up by an Italian speaking customer service team. Mark
Roughley stressed, ‘Unlike many online websites who throw up shell websites which have been google-translated, we aim to offer a completely localised solution in Italy. This has involved a lot of cost for our company in employing dedicated Italian CSR’s however we are confident of record growth in the Italian marketplace for
Laptop Power IT over the next two years.’
Determined to have the most extensive range of stocking locations of laptop spares in Europe, there are still further plans for European expansion. If you are a foreign customer be sure to check-out Laptop Power UK’s full range of international websites to ensure you choose the closest stocking solution to your destination
country to economise on shipping costs and reducing shipping times.

All the talk at the moment is about smartphones and the expected payment functionality that is going to be built into them to make online payments a breeze. Once the online payment functionality is built in, the expectation is for more and more transactions to be concluded for through smartphones as opposed to merely browsing
activity.
This has some interesting implications for a company like Laptop Power UK. If you have lost your laptop charger or notebook adapter, or you have cracked your laptop screen, or
have a faulty laptop battery – then there is a good chance that you may not be able to successfully get onto the internet via your laptop. More search friendly and purchase friendly smartphones could be a boon for the laptop spares market in that
it provides another channel for customers to order.
Management at Laptop Power are committed to making sure our website is as mobile friendly as possible. Already enjoying some great online statistics from mobile sources, we are committed to ensuring our website is seen as the premier destination for customers looking for laptop parts and looking to purchase through mobile media.
We expect there to be some big changes in this area during 2012, so we will keep our customers posted.

The BBC released an article last week suggesting the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in the UK has found a link between Wifi use on laptops and a reduction in the sperm count of the laptop user. The article shies away from drawing a direct conclusion from the studies, however the online blogs seem to suggest people are at least
thinking about the issue.
One thing beyond debate is the fact that wherever possible users should not use a laptop on their lap for protracted periods. There have been some reports of very nasty accidents as well as a plethora of studies also trying to link this type of laptop usage to lower sperm counts.
Here at Laptop Power UK we advise users to read the articles for themselves and draw their own conclusion. What is clear advice though is to avoid using the laptop for long periods on your knees. Always remember to tuck your laptop charger lead away so it is not likely to get tripped over. As well as protecting your laptop adapter from damage, it also reduces the chances of a broken laptop dc socket and also a cracked laptop screen as a result of tripping up over the lead. Using a laptop sat at a desk may also save expensive repair bills as well as looking after your health.

One of the best known and biggest selling laptop manufacturers, HP, have launched their new range of HP Pavilion G6 Series laptops to rival the likes of the Dell Inspiron 1545, Laptop Power UK can reveal. The Inspiron 1545 laptop was hugely popular due to
its reasonable price, good specifications and colourful design. HP now aim to follow this trend with their G6 Series.
The first thing to hit you is the sheer range of options available. There are many models available including the HP G6-1075SA, each with slightly different specifications to suit your requirements. Choose the processor, hard drive size, RAM or even the colour of the laptop to suit your taste and budget.
The price will start from around £350 for the HP G6-1009SA if you shop around and go up to around £800 for the top spec with large 750GB hard drive, 4MB RAM and the Intel Core I5 processor. This laptop is sure to be able to handle the rigours of multiple applications and programmes but it may be a step too far to expect the
newest games to appear seamless while in an on-line match.
With a choice of striking colours available with the HP G6 laptop, you may see a lot of brightly coloured notebooks around, with other manufacturers sure to follow suit making a nice change from the boring black and grey we are mostly used to.
Of course there are a wide range of add ons available and it looks like with the competitive pricing and aggressive marketing, the HP G6 Series laptop will be a big hit in the shops.
