HP have developed a charger which is unique for their laptops. In terms of the power output they are much like any other Laptop Charger however the tip of the charger which plugs into your laptop will be different to any other brand. And then within the HP umbrella the charger will be one of three possible options.
The first suitable for a HP Pavilion DV2000 Charger etc will be a small thin tip with a small ridge around the end. This is 90W of output power. A picture of this and its specifications can be seen on our website to compare to your old charger.
The second, suitable for some Compaq NC Series Chargers is only very slightly bigger in diameter and without the ridge. It usually has a yellow tip and is also less powerful with 65W of output power.
The final type suitable for some Compaq CQ Chargers is a lot wider and usually called a barrel type. You will be able to see a small pin inside this charger. It is also a 65W charger. This charger model requires certain technology within the tip to allow the laptop to recognise it. Many cheaper versions do not have this and so you could end up with a charger that is not recognised and does not charge your laptop. For a charger that meets all of the requirements of your laptop come to a trusted UK seller who know what they are doing and how to get you the best chargers for less.
