The major problems people come across when looking for a Replacement Laptop Screen include getting the screen size and type correct. It may seem confusing when you are asked to choose between a CCFL screen or an LED screen as there is often no obvious way of finding out. However we will give you the inside information.
There are two ways to find out the type of screen you have and both first involve the removal of the old panel. You can use this Laptop Screen Removal Guide to help you. Once the faulty screen is removed you can look to see what connectors it has. A laptop screen that has a ribbon cable connector at the back of the screen, plus a small white plug with two thin wires coming out of it at the bottom of the panel is called a CCFL screen. If you have the LED screen this small white plug at the bottom will not exist and will instead only have the ribbon connector.
Alternatively, Dell Inspiron 1545 Screens have a part number printed on the back. This tells you the size and type of screen in a format that ideally you should search for. For example, LP156WH1. Laptop Screens will be sold by part number as well as laptop model number, making it easy to find a compatible part.
