When the battery on your laptop stops charging the problem is usually caused by one of a few common issues. Firstly the battery itself is no longer of any use. There is a limited lifespan with a rechargeable battery. After each charge and discharge its gets very slightly less effective until one day it will no longer hold any charge at all – or at least not enough to be of any use.
The charging circuit on the main electronics motherboard could have developed a fault so the power from the adapter is not reaching the battery and therefore not providing any boost.
There could also be a problem with the Laptop Charger. It may not be getting any power through to the laptop because of a component that has failed, damaged cables or problems with the pin that fits into your laptop.
