For those of us who like to diagnose a problem with their laptop at home to see if it can be fixed before taking it to a repair shop, the internet is a vital tool. Read on to find out about some of the most common Laptop Screen Display problems and the way to fix them.
Firstly you should know whether it is actually the screen or something else which is causing the problem. If you have a grey/white screen, this usually means the screen is ‘lit’ so there is not an issue with the screen, but rather that the data or the image is not being transferred to the panel. In these instances, the usual culprit is a faulty data cable that attaches to the back of the screen. Either that or the connection to the motherboard of panel has come loose.
A screen which is black with a very faint image in the background is the opposite of the grey/white screen. The data is getting to the screen, hence the faint image, but the screen is not ‘lit’. This can be caused by a faulty part called the inverter. This is a small strip of electronics board near the bottom of the screen that gives the power to the screen to light it up. A new one can be easily found on-line and fitted in moments.
If your Acer Aspire 5630 Screen is totally black with no image at all there is a good change that there may be a problem with the laptop motherboard and more specifically the graphics ship sitting on it. Faults with the tiny connecting pins that enter the motherboard stop the image displaying as it should.
Flickering, cracked or screens with vertical or horizontal lines on, do require a new laptop screen. Again, these parts are easily found and easily fitted. Next time you think there is a screen problem, take a moment to find out if it is another issue before buying a new panel.
