There are obvious reasons for needing a new Laptop Screen such as dropped the laptop and there is a visible crack in the panel. Others may be a little trickier to diagnose.
If you turn your laptop on and all you see is a grey screen, this can be indicative of a problem with the data cable. This is the cable that transfers the date to the panel so if this is not getting through, nothing can be displayed. A new cable may be in order or otherwise just check the connection is fixed securely to the back of the laptop screen.
If your Acer Aspire 5332 Screen is very dim and maybe you can only see a very faint image of your login page you may have a problem with the inverter. The dark screen is caused by the faulty inverter not providing the power to light the screen.
Another issue could be the laptop powers on and all the lights come on but the screen stays off. This can indicate a problem with the graphics card. No image can be displayed on the screen as the graphics chip has come free of its soldered connections. This is usually caused by excessive heat fracturing the many tiny legs of the chip.
