There are two types of 15.6" laptop screens available. One type is an LED screen and the other is called a CCFL screen. This basically is the different way the screen is lit, or 'backlit'. The way the screen is lit can give you varying qualities in image. An LED being rated as the better of the two types for clarity, colour and contrast.
